- Balayage
- Technique: A freehand hair coloring technique involving painting highlights directly to the hair without using foils. The sections of hair will be placed creatively around the head.
- Result: Naturally sun-kissed hair.
- Foilyage
- Technique: A blend of balayage and highlighting with foils. This allows for isolation between the two colors.
- Result: Lighter tones that melt into the balayage background, while adding dimension and illumination.
- Color melt
- Technique: The use of painting two or three shades of color to pre-lightened hair.
- Result: Seamless transition from darker at the root to lighter and brighter at the ends.
- Babylights
- Technique: Very fine highlights intended to mimic the natural sun-lightened look. They can be hand painted around the face or foiled into the hair.
- Result: Low contrast and subtle. Add richness and vibrancy.
- Money piece
- Technique: A section of hair that is lighter and brighter around the face. Can be a bold or natural look. This is achieved by either highlight, babylight, weave or slicing.
- Result: The hair stands out from the rest of the hair directly behind the “money piece”.
- Foil highlights
- Technique: Weaving or slicing sections of hair to highlight and/or lowlight.
- Result: Foils are an ideal way to achieve a more uniform look with color that starts at the root.

- Blonde maintenance toning. Most commonly done 12 weeks after blonding service.
- Glaze/Gloss/Toner: By definition, these terms all refer to the same thing. A demi-permanent color will yield a more opaque finish. Semi-permanent will deliver a more translucent look. These are ammonia based and are applied after a blonding service or used as a color refresh. May be applied at the shampoo bowl, or at the chair.
- Glaze/Gloss/Toner result: Toners are designed to neutralize unwanted tones in pre-lightened hair. A toners job is to adjust the undertone resulting in shiny healthy looking hair with the final color in the desired tone.
